Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole milk
- 2 tablespoons Nolen Gur (Date Palm Jaggery)
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg powder
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon powder
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Crushed ice (optional)
- Chopped nuts (pistachios, almonds) for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Begin by heating the whole milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir continuously to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan. Bring it to a gentle simmer.
2. While the milk is heating, take the Nolen Gur and place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat it in the microwave for about 30 seconds or until it becomes a liquid. Alternatively, you can dissolve the Nolen Gur in a few tablespoons of warm milk.
3. Once the milk is simmering, add the Nolen Gur syrup to it. Continue to stir and simmer for another 5-7 minutes. This will allow the jaggery to blend well with the milk and infuse its sweet, caramel-like flavor.
4. Add the cardamom powder, nutmeg powder, and cinnamon powder to the milk. These spices will complement the rich flavor of the Nolen Gur.
5. If desired, add a few drops of vanilla extract for an extra layer of flavor. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
6. Remove the milk from heat and let it cool slightly. If you prefer your Nolen Gurer flavored milk cold, you can chill it in the refrigerator for a while.
7. To serve, pour the Nolen Gurer flavored milk into glasses. If you like it extra cold, you can add some crushed ice to the glasses before pouring.
8. Garnish with chopped nuts like pistachios and almonds if you'd like some crunch and extra richness.
9. Serve your Divine Nolen Gurer Flavored Milk immediately and savor the delightful blend of creamy milk with the exquisite sweetness of Nolen Gur and aromatic spices. Enjoy this authentic Bengali treat!
Note: Adjust the amount of Nolen Gur and spices to suit your taste preferences. Some people like it sweeter, while others prefer a milder sweetness. Experiment and find your perfect balance of flavors.
