- 2-3 tablespoons loose tea leaves or tea bags (Darjeeling or Assam tea is preferred)
- 2-3 slices of fresh ginger
- 1-2 green chilies, slit (adjust to your spice preference)
- 2-3 tablespoons sugar (adjust to taste)
- A pinch of cardamom powder (optional)
- A few fresh mint leaves (optional)

1. Boil Water and Milk:
- In a saucepan, combine water and milk. Place it over medium heat and bring it to a boil.

2. Add Tea Leaves and Ginger:
- Once the liquid comes to a boil, add the tea leaves (or tea bags) and fresh ginger slices.
- Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes. This allows the tea to steep and the flavors to infuse.

3. Add Green Chilies:
- After the tea has steeped, add the slit green chilies for a subtle heat.
- Continue simmering for another 2-3 minutes.

4. Sweeten the Tea:
- Stir in sugar according to your taste preference. You can adjust the sweetness to make it as sweet or as mildly sweet as you like.

5. Add Cardamom and Mint (Optional):
- If desired, sprinkle a pinch of cardamom powder for a hint of extra flavor.
- For a refreshing twist, you can add a few fresh mint leaves to the tea.

6. Strain and Serve:
- Using a tea strainer, strain the ginger tea into cups or teapots.
- Bengali Adrak Chai is traditionally served hot.

7. Enjoy the Bengali Ginger Tea Elixir:
- Savor the aromatic and invigorating flavors of Adrak Chai, a beloved beverage in Bengali households.
